Summer is here and what better way to stay cool on a hot Summer day than with a refreshing iced peach green tea? Store-bought iced teas can be loaded with added sugar and preservatives, but making this in your own kitchen is not only healthier, it’s also delicious! In this blog post, we’ll show you how to make this delicious drink using fresh peaches and green tea. The natural flavor of real peaches in this homemade recipe gives this easy recipe a great peach flavor. This Starbucks copycat recipe made as a big batch is perfect for busy people that don’t have time to stop at Starbucks every day!
Although we have lived in the South for over 20 years, we still drink my tea un-sweetened. So, this iced tea drink does not have any processed sugars or sweeteners. However, if you want your tea sweet, just add the amount of sugar when you steep the tea. True Southern sweet tea lovers only drink sweet tea that has had the sugar added at the start of the process!
Seriously, though, Pearson Peaches from Pearson Farm are just so sweet, that you will NOT even NEED sugar! To get the FULL Starbucks experience, and the best taste you are gonna want to add some tea and ice cubes to a cocktail shaker and give it a good shake! Add some lemon slices, a peach slice and if you like a sweeter drink, a touch of simple syrup.

- 4 cups warm water
- 4 green tea bags (increase the number of tea bags for a stronger flavor)
- 1 fresh peach pit removed, sliced
- Sprig of mint lemon balm, or basil (optional)
Instructions
- Pour warm water into a clear glass container-a large mason jar works! Add green tea bags and fresh peach slices.
- Note, if you want sweet tea, add a few tablespoons of sugar at this point. Cover.

- At this point, you can keep in the refrigerator, or serve over ice in a tall glass.
- To get the full Starbucks experience, add a cup of ice to a cocktail shaker, and add tea, and shake. Garnish with mint, lemon balm or basil. Enjoy!

Georgia has rightfully earned its reputation as the Peach State, and for good reason. So, buckle up as we explore the delightful peach varieties that Georgia proudly brings to the table! First, let’s break down the type of peaches.
Clingstone Peaches:
Clingstone peaches are a type of peach that has flesh that sticks tightly to the pit or “stone” inside the fruit. Unlike other peaches where the flesh easily separates from the stone, clingstone peaches require a bit more effort to remove the pit cleanly.
These peaches come in different colors like yellow, orange, and red, and they can be found in various sizes. They have juicy and sweet flesh that is full of flavor and aroma. Clingstone peaches are loved by many people because of their delicious taste.
Because the flesh sticks to the pit, clingstone peaches are often used for canning, preserving, baking, and making yummy peach-based dishes like cobblers, jams, and pies. They hold up well during cooking and canning processes, which means they keep their great taste even after being prepared in different ways.
Although it may take a little more effort to separate the flesh from the pit, clingstone peaches are definitely worth it. Their unique flavor and versatility in the kitchen make them a favorite for many peach lovers and chefs. So, whether you enjoy them fresh or use them in your favorite recipes, clingstone peaches add a special touch to your peachy experiences.
Semi Clingstone Peaches:
Semi-clingstone peaches are a specific type of peach that falls between clingstone and freestone varieties. As the name suggests, they possess qualities of both types, offering a balance between firm attachment and ease of separation between the flesh and the stone.
The beauty of semi-clingstone peaches lies in their ability to provide a middle ground between clingstone and freestone varieties. While they offer a slight challenge when it comes to separating the flesh from the pit, they still provide a level of convenience and are a great choice for both cooking enthusiasts and those who prefer enjoying peaches fresh.
Freestone Peaches:
Freestone peaches are a popular variety of peach known for their delicious flavor and easy-to-remove pits. Unlike clingstone peaches, where the flesh clings tightly to the pit, freestone peaches have flesh that easily separates from the pit, making them convenient for eating fresh, baking, and canning.
Flavor and Texture: Freestone peaches are prized for their sweet, juicy, and aromatic flavor. They have a balanced combination of sweetness and acidity, giving them a delightful taste. The flesh of freestone peaches is usually firm, yet tender, with a smooth texture.vAs the name suggests, freestone peaches have pits that can be easily removed from the flesh. This characteristic makes them ideal for slicing, as the pit can be easily separated without damaging the fruit. This makes freestone peaches convenient for cooking and enjoying in various recipes.
Availability: Freestone peaches are primarily available during the summer months, typically from June to September in the Northern Hemisphere. The exact availability can vary depending on the region and the specific variety of freestone peach.
Culinary Uses: Freestone peaches are versatile fruits and can be used in a variety of culinary applications. A favorite way to use these peaches is in fruit salads. Freestone peaches are also great for baking pies, cobblers, and tarts, as they hold their shape well during cooking. Additionally, they can be used in jams, jellies, preserves, and even grilled for a unique flavor.
Varieties: There are several different varieties of freestone peaches available, each with its unique characteristics. Some popular freestone peach varieties include Elberta, Red Haven, O’Henry, and Cresthaven. These varieties may vary in color, flavor, and ripening times.
When selecting freestone peaches, look for fruits that are firm, yet yield slightly to gentle pressure. They should have a vibrant color and a fragrant aroma. Avoid peaches with soft spots or bruising.
What are benefits of green tea?
Green tea has a range of possible health benefits. It can help you feel better, lose weight, and lower your risk of chronic diseases, you may want to consider making green tea a regular part of your life. Green tea is loaded with antioxidants. Among its benefits, it may help support brain function and fat loss, help reduce the chance of developing heart disease, and offer some protection against cancer. Both green and black tea come from the same plant. But because of how they are processed, green tea typically contains less caffeine than black tea.

If you want the REAL “Starbucks experience” – they use zero peace juice at all. It’s artificially flavored white grape juice. 😂
