I seriously would pick out all of my favorite! And I loved the way my cereal milk became a lovely hue! I would drink it up when I was finished!

These treats have extra butter and marshmallow to make them so gooey and chewy! We know you will love them!

Lucky Charms Treats

Lucky Charms Treats are a delightful and nostalgic snack that combines the beloved flavors of the classic cereal with gooey marshmallows. Here’s why you’ll love this recipe, the key ingredients and their roles, step-by-step instructions, storage tips, and possible cereal substitutions.

Three Reasons You’ll Love This Recipe:

  1. Nostalgic Flavor: Combining the iconic taste of Lucky Charms with sweet marshmallows evokes childhood memories in every bite.
  2. Quick and Easy Preparation: With minimal ingredients and straightforward steps, these treats are ready in no time, making them perfect for spontaneous cravings or last-minute gatherings.
  3. Visually Appealing: The colorful marshmallows from the cereal create a fun and vibrant appearance, making these treats a hit at parties and family events.

Ingredients for Lucky Charm Treats:

  • Lucky Charms Cereal: Provides the base of the treat, offering crunch and the signature marshmallow shapes that add both flavor and visual appeal.
  • Butter: Adds richness and helps in melting the marshmallows smoothly, ensuring a cohesive mixture.
  • Mini Marshmallows: When melted, they act as the binding agent, holding the cereal together to form cohesive bars.

How to Make Lucky Charms Treats:

  1. Prepare the Pan: Grease a 13×9-inch pan with butter or spray oil; set aside.
  2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows:
    • In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter.
    • When the butter is about 80% melted, add the mini marshmallows. Stir continuously until fully melted and combined.
  3. Combine with Cereal:
    • Remove the pot from heat.
    • Add half of the Lucky Charms cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture; stir to combine.
    • Add the remaining cereal and continue stirring until the cereal is evenly coated.
  4. Transfer to Pan:
    • Pour the mixture into the prepared 13×9-inch pan.
    • Using a buttered spatula, press the mixture evenly into the pan, ensuring it’s compact.
  5. Cool and Cut:
    • Allow the treats to cool for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.
    • Once cooled, place a sheet of parchment paper over the top, then invert the pan onto a cutting board.
    • Cut into 24 squares using a sharp knife.

Storage Tips:

  • Airtight Container: Store the cut treats in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
  • Room Temperature: Keep the container at room temperature; the treats will stay fresh for about a week.

Cereal Substitutions:

If you’re looking to switch things up or don’t have Lucky Charms on hand, consider these alternatives:

  • Fruity Pebbles: Offers a fruity flavor and vibrant colors.
  • Cinnamon Toast Crunch: Provides a cinnamon-sugar taste with a satisfying crunch.
  • Cocoa Krispies: For a chocolatey twist, use Cocoa Krispies.
  • Froot Loops: Adds a bold, fruity flavor and colorful appearance.
  • Golden Grahams: Imparts a honey-graham flavor reminiscent of s’mores when combined with marshmallows.

These substitutions can offer a variety of flavors and textures, allowing you to customize the treats to your preference.

Lucky’s Story:

Somewhere over a rainbow in a magical forest lives a clever, playful, and mischievous leprechaun named Lucky.

His father was a wise man and knew it was Lucky’s destiny to bring magic from his world to the real world. He placed eight magical charms in Lucky’s hands as a way of protecting him along his journey and told Lucky to respect their magical powers and others he may encounter along the way.

As his legend grew, children everywhere coveted Lucky’s magical charms and hundreds of games of hide & seek ensued. Today, Lucky outwits and outsmarts those pesky kids, discovering (and losing) his magical charms, always with children hot on his heels. (Courtesy of LuckyCharms.com)

Let’s continue the magic of Lucky, by making these delicious treats!
